Michiko Koshino is a legend in the world of the Japanese way. She grew up in a family that made the kimono for generations. In 1934 Ayako his mother broke with the tradition and opened his own clothing store. Michiko and her two sisters - Hiroko and Junko - in the shop, an experience that would lead each of them a famous fashion designer. Michiko's story, however, is very different from her sisters.
Michiko was not planning to be a Modedesigner, so he did not visit Modeschule. She played semi-professional tennis instead. He left Japan in London in the 1970s without much English. Michiko quickly made a group of artists who befriended, musicians and designers in London, who would change the world with his creative vision in the eighties. Michiko Michiko launched his label officially in 1986. His London Anoraks, jackets inflatable cat and other original pieces quickly icons has been in the London scene club in full swing 1980. Since then, he has created a way inspired by the club and the road .
More than forty years after Japan without design training mode or competence in English, Michiko Koshino is recognized as one of the most influential designers recognized by his Japanese generation. His work has been presented in many fashion shows of the 1980s, including a show at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Countless musicians of the 80s - including David Bowie - were fans of his work. It was the first Japanese Modedesigner to become an accredited member of the British Fashion Council.
To mark the 30th anniversary of the label London Michiko, Michiko Koshino host a pop-up shop in Harajuku LaForet March 4 - March 17. The pop store is presented in limited edition again from your design file in the years 1980 and 1990 as well as some new features.
